Madelyn vs Arkaya vs Haze: Choose Your Support

Which support should you build first?

Madelyn is our broad early priority; Arkaya becomes a higher priority when shielding fixes your hunts. Haze is appealing for a player who understands her resource interactions, while Ryunosuke is more conditional around setup and a Fire-oriented squad. This order is editorial and does not assume duplicate-dependent buffs are already unlocked.

The official class label is only the beginning. A Support Adventurer is not necessarily a healer with the same timing as every other Support. Compare the actual trigger, who receives the benefit, what resource it requires and how it changes your main character’s next useful action.

These descriptions do not establish exact healing amounts, shield duration, buff percentages or cooldowns. Those fields are left unquantified until current in-game evidence is available.

Madelyn: make Spores and positioning count

Madelyn’s official profile combines medicine support with a Spore mechanic. Some skills apply Spores that can be detonated to damage a target and boost herself and nearby allies. That means you should pay attention to both preparation and where the effect matters.

A useful practice goal is to recognize three states: the target has the intended Spore effect, a detonation opportunity is available, and the beneficiary is nearby. Do not rush the effect just because the button is available. If your main character is repositioning, check whether waiting creates a more useful window.

Community launch sources also describe her healing value. If repeated damage accumulates while you learn a monster, that makes her a sensible comparison against a damage-only substitution. A support can improve the result even if her own damage is lower.

Arkaya: value the attacks a shield lets you finish

Arkaya builds Resolve through attacks and can spend it for a stronger blow with a large shield. That gives you a concrete question: does the shield let the squad complete something it was previously losing to interruption or pressure?

A shield spent after the danger has passed may have little immediate value. A shield used before an attack you still fail to land may not solve the real problem either. Compare whether it protected a productive action, rather than evaluating the shield in isolation.

Game8 ranks Arkaya highly for defensive utility and affinity support; Gacha.gg discusses a more investment-dependent comparison against Madelyn. We do not turn that disagreement into an exact breakpoint. Read the live unlock requirements before assuming a fresh copy provides the same benefit as an upgraded example.

Haze: a Support label with active execution costs

Haze uses Dual Blades. In Archdemon Mode, some moves can parry depending on the situation, or keep spending Demon Gauge on Crimson Fang Slash follow-ups. Her official description therefore calls for resource awareness and a decision between defense and offense.

Start by observing when the relevant mode is active. Then test one intended parry and one intended follow-up in a familiar encounter. If you routinely spend the gauge before a defensive moment, more upgrades may not fix the problem. Learn the choice before trying to maximize the sequence.

Community sources describe additional squad utility. Exact live percentages and acquisition conditions are not asserted here; the official showcase alone does not establish them. Check the current client before buying or planning around any specific support bonus.

Ryunosuke: budget for the setup

Ryunosuke eats in particular stances to gain energy. Different actions provide different energy, and Well-fed improves Spirit Blade attacks. The preparation is part of his cost, so compare him only after you can recognize the state that enables the payoff.

Launch guides associate him with Fire support. Before adding him to Midori’s plan, inspect the current team effect and its conditions. A thematic match is not proof that his setup will be more useful than the healing or shielding you remove.

A support test for your next three hunts

Use the same familiar target and keep your main damage plan stable. In each hunt, record what the support actually changed: a heal received, a shield that protected an action, a detonation that benefited nearby allies, or a setup state reached in time.

If possible, compare alternatives at similar progression. If progression differs substantially, record that limitation instead of assigning the full difference to the character. Keep the support that solves your current bottleneck; revisit the result after a meaningful unlock.

What should you avoid spending on?

Avoid spending to satisfy a tier letter when you cannot identify the benefit you need. Do not assume a duplicate-dependent recommendation applies to the base character. Do not replace a survival tool with a specialist until you know why the specialist improves the target matchup.
